Michael Hart, Adjunct Professor at Georgia State University, practiced small animal medicine and surgery in a small animal private veterinary practice prior to pursuing specialty training (residency program) in laboratory animal medicine. Dr. Hart has served as a laboratory animal veterinarian in an academic environment since completing his residency in 1998 and became board certified as a laboratory animal veterinarian in 2002.
Clinical and Administrative Focus
Director, Director of the Division of Animal Resources (DAR) – the administrative unit of the university responsible for the program of animal care. In this capacity and in his capacity as the University Veterinarian, Dr. Hart works to provide and oversee the provision of veterinary care, husbandry care, animal care and use training, and research support in association with the university faculty and their research programs. The university animal care and use program is accredited by the Association for the Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC).
